"Wild elephants should stay in the wild, and we need to make sure the wild has enough food for them. What we need to do is plant small food sources all over the forest, and make sure that stray elephants that wander beyond the edges of forest can return safely to its herd" - H.M. The King in regards to the relationship between "man and elephant" 5 July 1999.
Here at Siam Winery we have taken His Majesty the King's inspirational words to heart and always strive to live in harmony with the beautiful natural environment of Thailand.
Since 2009 we've been funding and supporting various environment preservation efforts like the one at Kui Buri, where we provide tools for forest rangers to plant food sources in order to sustain the wildlife; such as grass fields, artificial saltlicks, and water source over 200 rais of wildland. We also created a safe haven for animals in the area by deterring potential poachers by incentivising the '5 Stops' guidelines.
Siam Winery is proud to be the only private organization to have taken part in the creation of the Kui Buri Preservations Project. It has been such a success that plans are already in the works to roll out the 'Kui Buri Model' to many more destinations across the country in the coming years.
