Monsoon Valley Wine Dinner @Sra Bua Restaurant, Siam Kempenski Bangkok Hotel
Come and experience “Monsoon Valley Dinner”, an extraordinary meal made extra special by Thailand's pride Monsoon Valley Wines
Siam Winery, the manufacturer of high quality and internationally award-winning Monsoon Valley Wines, in coorporation with the Siam Kempinski Hotel will hold a very exclusive “MONSOON VALLEY Wine Dinner at the hotel’s Sra Bua restaurant on Wednesday July 26, 2017. The award-winning wines will be flowing while diners enjoy a special menu and talks with wine-makers and sommelier.
Started in 2001, Monsoon Valley Wine was born out of a mission to create a Thai wine culture. Produced with grapes from Monsoon Valley vineyards in the seaside town of Hua Hin, where the climate is suitable for grape varieties, the wine has a unique taste thanks to quality grape combined with a great experience in winemaking by Kathrin Puff, who is wine-making, viticulture, innovation and strategic projects director of Siam Winery. The Monsoon Valley is the most awarded Thai wine. It has won 237 awards from nine world-class competitions from 2008 to 2017. The most recent award came from the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017, held in the United Kingdom where Monson Valley received the 6th prize among more than 17,000 wines in the competition.
"We are very proud of the fact that our premium quality Monsoon Valley Wines has received awards on domestic and international stages over the past 10 years. The great success reflects Thailand’s potentials in producing quality wines. We’d like to offer our guests an exclusive experience at the MONSOON VALLEY Wine Dinner, which will feature world-class wines pairing with a special menu by the Michelin-starred chef at the Sra Bua restaurant. We believe that it would be a perfect match, and the diners will be enjoying great delicacies and the exclusivity of the evening,” said Puff, Siam Winery’s lead winemaker.
The exclusive dinner starts with “Laksa based crab on crab cornetto”, served with grilled squid, oyster tempura with misomayo-coco. The dish is paired with Monsoon Valley Colombard, the white wine that will be refreshing. This will be followed by “Seabass with apple, celery and spicy meringue”, a salad with spicy Thai taste served with sweet-and-dry Monsoon Valley/White Shiraz which gives diners a sweet and sour taste with citrus aroma. The meal will continue with a light menu, “Salt-baked carrot with scallop, tamarind and lemongrass”, paired with Monson Valley White Shiraz Rosé which adds delight with its wild strawberry and soft spice aromas. Next will be “Foie gras with ginger and plum wine”, cooked with Monsoon Valley Chenin Blanc Medium Sweet and paired with the same wine, which gives a truly refreshing fruity aroma derived from white grapes.
Then it will be the turn of a creative Thai menu, “Maine lobster salad frozen red curry”, served with the ruby-red bold-taste Monsoon Valley Shiraz with aromas of fruits and spices. It is followed by “Beef or Pork Massaman with potatoes”, which is paired with Monsoon Valley Cuvée de Siam Rouge which offers the aromas of oak, fruits and a pleasant light smell of spices. The course will be wrapped up with “Flower Shop” and one of the most famous Thai desserts, “Mango with Sticky Rice”, which will be paired with Monsoon Valley Chenin Blanc Late Harvest, a white wine offering aromas of honey, dried fruits and lemon.
